Why Test Well Water?

Well water comes from an aquifer under the home. This drinking water is then exposed to contaminates in your soil, such as coliform bacteria, E. coli bacteria, nitrates, arsenic, iron, lead, radiation (gross alpha radiation or radon in water), and VOCs.

PWTA Water Testing

We are partnered with RAdata Analytical Lab as our certified laboratory for PWTA sampling that complies with New Jersey requirement for testing.

PFAS Water Testing

PFAS (perfluoroalkyl) is a forever chemical that can found in our water and is dangerous to our health. Water testing is the only way to know if PFAS is in your water.

Water Testing and Treatment Solutions

Because your water table can experience geological changes, the EPA & CDC recommend having your water tested again every year as new contaminants could be detected. Ask our experts about testing the efficiency of your current system and options for maintenance!

7/6/23 - I had purchased a radon detector and discovered that my basement was reading in the red at times so I knew my radon fan was dead. The fan was installed in 2002 and I have no idea when it actually died. I was able to determine the model number of my unit and started my research. I found the exact model on Amazon for $799 so I totally expected this job to approach $1,000. I reached out to a couple of local radon experts and received two quotes. One for just under $1,250 to replace with the exact model and the other from Protect Environmental for only $543 all-in!!! The actual fan Protect suggested and I chose is way more advanced than what I had. It has a much greater CFM rating and is capable of covering up to 2,000 square feet. My old one covered 1,000 and my basement is probably 1,200 total so I felt really good about my decision to schedule the installation. To complicate things a bit, my finished basement framers had left only an 8” x 14” opening to address the installation of the new fan. I felt certain we would have to open up the drywall to get it done. Greg Turner at Protect Environmental did a fantastic job working with me and I was able to get sufficient photos of the old fan’s installation. We decided to not cut open the drywall just yet and wait until the install tech had a chance to look at everything. Well, the install happened today and the tech, Tony, was able to contort his arms enough to get the old fan out and the pipe prepared for the new fan. The install only took a couple hours and the new fan and exhaust look great. The prior fan vent was against code so the new exhaust is run just past the roof line. I’m really impressed with Greg’s honesty and eagerness to help me find the right solution. The install went great with Tony and we just need an electrician to come finish with an external cutoff, which is a code requirement. Greg even suggested a great electrician, Connor Ryan, who is coming tomorrow to finish the install for $250. I highly recommend Protect Environmental as they made this process so easy and Greg did a great job lowering my anxiety over the install. Thanks Greg and Tony!!!!

After a 48 hour mail in test, I spoke with Protect Environmental. Rather than immediately scheduling the installation of a radon mitigation system, I was advised on how to get a more accurate long term test; i.e. short term profit isn't their principal concern. I still needed a mitigation system. My experience was good. Installing the system was fully explained to me, punctual and efficient. Rather than charging me to install additional equipment in the crawl space, they first tested the radon level above the crawl space in the den of our home. I did not need further radon mitigation. The team was very professional and did an amazing job. Prior to installation we saw radon levels as high as 7.5 pCi/L upstairs with our AirThings digital detector. The EPS recommends levels under 4 pCi/L.After installation, our levels dropped to 0.1 pCi/L. That's a 98.6% decrease! From start to finish, I have never had a more excellent experience from a business. I bought my first home earlier this year and the home inspector ran a radon test at my discretion because I wanted to know for my sake and others living with me. It came back high when I was promised that it wouldn't (concrete slab foundation). I knew better than to believe that high radon was impossible so I researched the highest rated radon mitigation specialists. This is the first and only option. They have perfect ratings for a reason. They are busy and will still make time to come out, get a feel for the layout of the property, and give you a timely estimate. Believe it or not, I was quoted a higher price than I actually paid because they knew what system my home needed and changed the parts out, thus making it more efficient for the system and my wallet. 10/10, I would recommend to every single person that wants a system installed or even just a test for curiosity sake.

Wow, where do I start? We had 3 consultations with different companies and after our consultation with Protect Environmental, we knew they were the company for us. From my first phone call with Jeff Sims, he was very informative and explained the extra steps that they take to make sure you get the lowest radon level possible and answered any questions that I had. Doug came out for my consultation and was super respectful, professional, and very knowledgeable about radon and the system installation. Doug was excellent at listening to our concerns about the placement of the system, as we wanted it to “aesthetically” look nice, but not compromise the effectiveness of the system. The other consultations we had with other companies, it seemed as though they wanted to place the system where it was easiest for them and dismissed our concerns of the aesthetics and placement. Backstory: I used Aqualock for Radon Mitigation. Big mistake! They did a sloppy job, plus, didn’t get my readings under acceptable levels. Instead of calling them back, I decided to get a second opionion on their work.In comes Protect Environmental. They not only identified the issues that Aqualock could not address and did not address, but they came up with a more thorough and comprehensive plan. If you have an older home, Protect approaches things differently. Our house was built in 1947. Not all homes are the same, and they know that.They price fairly, are very professional, extremely knowledgeable and they did an excellent job with the installation and the cleanup. To advise anyone looking for radon remediation services. PROTECT ENVIORMENTAL is absolutely the most amazing service oriented company I’ve dealt with in my relocation to Louisville. Jeff and his folks are attentive and professional in all aspects of what they do. I have never had a reason for remediation to be done and had no idea what to expect. The two young men arrived and went about their business professional. They vented the drill for the concrete hole they needed and after a couple of hours, they were finished. I thought I’d have a little cleaning to do after the dust as settled. This wasn’t the case. The basement appeared cleaner than when they started. There wasn’t one sign of them having been there. Jeff was right about the equipment on the outside. At first I would notice it. But after a bit it would not be so obvious. The follow up was as described. They called and my convience they came back and set up testing equipment to see if the system worked. Well we went from a 6-7 to a .04 or so. It indeed did work.
