General Manager, Louisville · Radon & Vapor Mitigation Expert · Kentucky & Southern Indiana
Doug Webster is the General Manager for Protect Environmental’s Louisville team, leading radon mitigation, vapor intrusion, and indoor air quality services across Kentucky and Southern Indiana. Starting his career as a field technician in 2010, Doug brings dual NRPP measurement and mitigation certifications, multi-family expertise, and the operational experience to manage real estate transaction timelines across the Kentuckiana region.
Doug Webster serves as General Manager for the Louisville team at Protect Environmental, supporting residential and commercial clients throughout Kentucky and Southern Indiana. With more than a decade of hands-on field experience, Doug brings deep technical expertise in radon measurement, mitigation system design, and multi-family environmental risk management to one of the highest-radon-potential regions in the country.
Doug began his career as a radon and vapor intrusion mitigation technician in 2010, mastering system installation and diagnostics before advancing into operational leadership. His progression from field technician to director of operations reflects both technical excellence and project management expertise, and he still steps into the field regularly for consultations and complex installs across the Louisville and Lexington markets.
That field-up trajectory is a meaningful difference for clients. Doug has personally installed, diagnosed, and verified hundreds of mitigation systems, which informs how he leads operations today, from initial property assessment through long-term system performance.
Approximately 1 in 3 Kentucky homes have elevated radon levels, and Louisville is classified by the EPA as a Radon Zone 1, meaning it exhibits a high likelihood for indoor radon. High levels of radon have been found in homes in every one of Kentucky’s 120 counties, and the state’s overall estimated mean radon level (5.4 pCi/L) is above the EPA action level of 4 pCi/L.
Doug’s mission is straightforward: reduce long-term exposure for the families and businesses in his region by delivering mitigation systems that are durable, code-compliant, and performance-verified.
Doug holds multiple credentials through the National Radon Proficiency Program (NRPP), the credentialing division of AARST and the recognized authority for radon professional certification in the United States:
Since 2017, Doug has maintained active NRPP certification and completed more than 136 hours of advanced radon training, reinforcing his commitment to technical accuracy and long-term system performance.
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas and a leading cause of lung cancer among non-smokers, according to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
Doug’s combined experience in measurement and mitigation allows him to evaluate properties comprehensively, from initial testing and diagnostics to system design, installation, and verification. His expertise includes:
His experience working within real estate timelines makes him especially effective in transaction-sensitive situations where deadlines are critical and a closing date is on the line.
Doug’s advanced training in Multi-Family Mitigation (MFM) and Multi-Family Measurement (MFMT) positions him as a regional leader in large-building radon solutions. Apartment complexes, condominium developments, healthcare facilities, and commercial properties require system designs that address multiple units and zones while balancing airflow, performance, and ongoing tenant occupancy.
His multi-family and commercial experience covers:
His ability to scale mitigation strategies across multiple units or buildings is a key differentiator in Kentucky and Southern Indiana markets, where multi-family inventory and healthcare facilities are growing.
Doug also works with builders and developers to incorporate radon-resistant features during construction. Integrating radon control during construction reduces long-term exposure risks and minimizes future retrofit costs.
His RRNC certification supports:
Leads radon and vapor mitigation operations across Louisville, Central Kentucky, and Southern Indiana. Oversees project execution, team training, permitting coordination, and quality control for single-family residential, multi-family housing, commercial, healthcare, and real estate transaction projects throughout the Kentuckiana region.
Earned active NRPP certification, completing more than 136 hours of advanced radon training to date.
Began career as a field technician installing and diagnosing radon and vapor mitigation systems. Mastered the full mitigation lifecycle from diagnostic testing and system design through installation, fan selection, and post-installation verification before advancing into operational leadership.
Doug and the Protect Environmental Louisville team serve Kentucky and Southern Indiana, including Louisville, Lexington, Elizabethtown, Bowling Green, the Greater Kentuckiana region, and Southern Indiana communities.

Yes. Approximately 1 in 3 Kentucky homes have elevated radon levels, and Louisville is classified by the EPA as a Radon Zone 1, meaning it has a high likelihood for indoor radon gas. High levels have been found in homes in every one of Kentucky’s 120 counties. Southern Indiana counties also have moderate-to-high radon potential. Testing is the only way to determine levels in a property.
Multi-family mitigation requires system designs that address multiple units and zones simultaneously while balancing airflow, performance, and ongoing tenant occupancy. Single-home mitigation typically addresses one foundation and consistent occupancy. NRPP multi-family certifications (which Doug holds) are the recognized credential for multi-family work, and AARST/ANSI multifamily measurement standards apply.
Yes. Testing and mitigation are commonly negotiated during real estate transactions. Experienced project management ensures deadlines are met without compromising safety. Doug’s field-up experience and operational leadership are particularly valuable in transaction-sensitive timelines, where a quick, code-compliant install can keep a closing on track.
