In the process of selling my house, it was requested by the buyers that another full radon mitigation system be added to the existing one. Doyle Crawford, our Mitigation Specialist identified that a new full system was not needed. After speaking to the realtor, he explained in detail why it wasn’t needed, received the ok, and took care of the problem by simply adding on to the existing system. This solved the problem, saved money and was guaranteed to work. Doyle was courteous, highly knowledgable of his job and explained the mitigation process. Update September 27th, 2026 Another fantastic experience with Protect Environmental. One of the most important things a company can do is effective transition planning with their senior leadership. With Kurt headed towards retirement, Grant is the new general manager. Grant started with the company 5 years ago and earned his way to the GM position. Our sump pump died and Grant responded to my message personally, let me know that he lived nearby, came out today, Sunday, to install a new sump pump, inspected the radon system that they put in a few years ago to make sure it was working properly, and gave me counsel about next steps regarding radon level retesting. Grant is carrying on the senior management tradition at Protect Environmental, of treating customers like family, honoring their word, going above and beyond with respect to customer service, doing highly competent work, and maintaining fair pricing even during an inflationary time. This company has my highest recommendation. Original 2023 review: This company is very honest and does excellent work. When I first called and requested a radon mitigation system, the company president, Kurt, told me that the radon readings that another company had done were invalid (because the scores were so far apart) and he told me to retest, as I may not need a system. Kurt was absolutely right: the retests (which were valid) averaged 2.5. His honesty saved me hundreds of dollars. Today, Bob and Ryan came out and put in a new sump pump and sump pump cover. They did great work, charged a very reasonable price, and even put a drain in (the basement has no floor drain) in for no extra charge. Dave, the manager who set up the appointment for me, was also very helpful, diagnosing exactly what I needed before the workers came, based on the photograph of the sump pump I sent. I don't often give five star ratings but this is well deserved: honest, great prices, excellent workers, integrity.

I wanted to extend my highest recommendation of Protect Environmental for the exceptional, above-and-beyond services they recently provided to me. I contacted them, (upon the high recommendation of the company I use for plumbing, heating and cooling services), to double-check my sump pump well for any potential air and/or radon leaks after a plumber had to access it to drain my hot water heater. I was afraid that the plumber may have broken the seals around the sump pump well cover in a way that would possibly allow any potential radon to seep out into the basement. Grant from Protect Environmental fully understood my concerns when I spoke to him on the phone, so he came out quickly to check that all the seals and the plug to the sump pump well were intact! His calm demeanor relieved me instantly of my concerns, by further by explaining to me how the radon detection device works that I have in my home (a system that I had inherited from the previous homeowners when I bought my home). I knew little about how the radon detection system works. Grant was very patient with all my question and he explained things in a way that I could fully understand. He went “above-and-beyond” in his service in helping me to understand that my radon system was doing its job and that my home was safe. I would highly recommend Protect Environmental to anyone who wants to utilize their exceptional services in ensuring their home is safe and protected from potential hazardous materials of any kind. Moved to a new home with a passive radon mitigation system that wasn't reducing levels enough. They came out and upgraded it to an active mitigation system within two days of calling and were done in less than an hour and were happy to explain and show what they were doing. Radon readings went from 6.0 to 0.03.

They installed the radon mitigation system, including assisting with my sump pump so that the system could work. Work looks professional, the pvc pipe runs right next to my gutter so no one would even notice it. Got the post system radon text results back at 0.2!

Grant in the office was patient with my phone calls and did a good job answering my questions. Joe and Eric installed a radon mitigation system for my house. They arrived on time, were professional in their demeanor, did an excellent job with the equipment installation, were thoughtful in thinking through different options, etc. but what matters even more: the radon level dropped from around 30pCi/L to around 1pCi/L.
