Skyler and Jake were great. Very thorough and professional. They explained every option I had and took the time to go over it to make sure they had the best spot to do the install. Very much appreciate the work they did. The motor ended up having an issue and they came out the next day to replace it. Very responsive, which was also appreciated. Definitely recommend them to others.
Response from the owner:Hi Kerry, Thank you so much for the thoughtful 5-star review. We are glad to hear Skyler and Jake took the time to explain your options clearly and make sure the installation was done in the best possible spot. We also appreciate your patience with the motor issue and are happy the team could respond quickly and get it replaced the next day. Thank you again for your recommendation and for trusting Protect Environmental. — The Salt Lake City Protect Environmental Team

I highly recommend this company for any radon services that you may need!

It works! First off, the two young men that came to the house to install the system were awesome. Professional, courteous, and good conversation. Second, we were measuring at 21.5 pCi which is crazy high. One week later we were down to 1.64 pCi. As of today we are 1.51 pCi. System price was fair, work was clean and would recommend them in a heartbeat. Don’t hesitate, get it mitigated today.
Response from the owner:Thank you for sharing your experience, Carson! We’re thrilled to hear your system is performing so well and that our team made the process a positive one from start to finish. We appreciate your trust and recommendation! – The Salt Lake City Protect Environmental Team

UPDATE 2025, i have had the system for almost 2 years at this point, I have loved working with radovent / protect environmental, our levels went back up since I live in a difficult area to mitigate, they came out under warranty and added another system to get the levels down. They are an awesome company. Work is clean and looks good. I got bids from several companies for a system as our levels were in the upper 30s. Radovent had extremely competitive pricing and for the same price as other companies outside units they were able to run it through my attic so I didnt have the pipe outside. The install was fast and everything was smooth. After a couple of months winter showed up and my levels spiked up into the upper 7s and I gave them a call and they scheduled me right away for a warranty visit to upgrade the fan. I was shocked that they honor their warranty so well. I was expecting to have issues with the warranty but Radovent was amazing. They upgraded the fan and the levels dropped, but were still in the upper 3s and they got me scheduled again with no hassle to fix things up. Radovent is BY FAR the best company out there. I will only recommend them to neighbors. If you are looking for a radon mitigation company just go with radovent, you will be glad you did
Response from the owner:Thank you for your review, Kyle! We are glad that we were able to work with you to make sure your home stays safe from elevated radon levels all year 'round. It's very common for levels to spike in the colder months, so kudos to you for monitoring those levels to know when to reach out for service.

We had Protect Environmental come out to mitigate our radon in our basement. Install was quick and the site was clean that day. Over time we noticed the system was getting louder and louder. At first we put up with it, but eventually it was so loud we couldn’t sleep at night. With one call to Protect Environmental they sent a guy out who immediately told us that the fan was too loud and that it was all covered under warranty. He quickly replaced the fan at no cost. Ever since then the fan has been quiet and we are happy knowing that our radon issues have been taken care of. It has been a few months and everything is working well and quietly. We sleep right next to the fan and you can’t even hear it.
Response from the owner:Thanks for your review, Douglas! We are so glad you are able to sleep better knowing your radon levels are taken care of... and with a quieter fan, too!

Bought my own electronic radon detector. After finding levels requiring mitigation, I called a few companies. Protect Environmental was available within two weeks, they came onsite and analyzed my house, determined the best location for the system, and three hours later were finished. My Radon levels dropped to less that 1pCi/L (previously 10pCi/L). The system looks as good as it can (knowing how it works). They guarantee the system and its effectiveness for life. (Fan has a 5 year warranty)

RadoVent did a great job mitigating our home of radon. We went from a measurement of 7.2 to below 0.5 in 30 hours. Larry and Dominic were great and very hard workers. The bid was fair and they were easy to work with. Thank you for making our home a safe place to live. Much appreciation to you!

RadoVent got us in for a mitigation a couple weeks before competing companies could after we discovered dangerously high radon levels in our basement. Larry was knowledgeable and efficient, and his work speaks for itself: Levels went from 11.2pCi/L to 0.6-1.0pCi/L in 72 hours. We did tests in three separate rooms to be sure that the installation had worked properly. Highly recommend this company!

RadoVent succeeded where others could not! I had hired another local company to mitigate high radon levels in my 1912 house in Salt Lake City. The other company drilled holes in my basement concrete and cut a hole in my exterior brick only to tell me the couldn’t do the job. In came RadoVent to the rescue. Despite being a very difficult job, the people at RadoVent successfully installed a mitigation system which has done a great job at reducing our radon levels at home. Save yourself the headache and just call RadoVent first!

PART 1 Radovent did a mitigation job in my home earlier this month on Friday 7/2. The good: • On time, I received both a text and email reminders before the visit. • The tech who worked on the crawlspace, spent hours placing the vapor barrier and from what I can tell visually, covered everything and secured the barrier to the perimeter. Didn't appear to cut corners. • They stayed until after 6:30 pm finishing the job, though there is some concern that in trying to hurry and finish late on a Friday, maybe some things were missed, not completed properly? Questions/concerns: • The technician who was doing the work outside of the crawlspace had been with the company less than three months. Expecting the other crew member to be more experienced, I was surprised to learn, that he had only been doing this for a few months longer. Was surprised to have such an inexperienced crew as RadoVent advertises themselves as a step above the competition in the design of their mitigation systems, materials used, and presumably, experienced technicians doing the installations. • Really wasn't any communication during the installation process, except when I asked questions. And maybe that's normal as the technicians are there to do the install and not explain anything. • The fan is installed in the open attic portion of the garage and if you look at the discharge piping relative to the hole in the roof, it's slightly crooked/not straight and aligned. It was just something that I noticed that made me wonder about experience/workmanship and gives me concerns about what other issues might there be that I can't see. • Speaking of the roof, that part of the job was apparently finished and the technician then moved onto working downstairs on the suction point in the slab. When the total installation was complete and the techs were cleaning up, the technician who did the work in the garage and roof, asked if I had any questions. I pointed out that when looking up at the exhaust in the roof, that I could see bright sunlight reflecting on the white exhaust pipe, like somehow there was direct light hitting it that was visible from inside the garage. He then remembered that he hadn't sealed around the pipe boot/cover thing and the exhaust pipe and what I was seeing was that gap. It sounded like maybe the opening for the exhaust pipe was bigger than necessary and he mentioned he forgot to seal it. Said he would go back up with some silicone and seal it up before leaving. He then got back up on the roof and did something as the bright visible light that I could see previously disappeared. The next day, a day after the installation, I notice a 2/3 empty tube of DAP asphalt sealant on my deck (See Photo). Apparently it had been left on the roof and then at some point had rolled off where I saw it on my deck. Again, forgetting to seal things up or not completing the job when you were up on the roof doing it, causes me to wonder about experience/skill/workmanship in doing the task at hand and makes me wonder what else may not have been completed properly, but just isn't visible that I would notice. I did climb up on the roof later to look at the exhaust location and to my untrained eye, it appears that things have been sealed up. Hopefully it's leakfree and stays that way long-term. • No one ever showed me the contract/bid, went over the plans or discussed payment options. At the end of the day as the crew was leaving I asked about payment and they just mentioned to call the office on Monday. I had discussed this a bit with Shantay? before the installation and indicated I was planning to pay by credit card and she indicated I would likely get an email with a link to make payment on Monday • In fairness, Tim was onsite before starting the work and we discussed the option of putting the suction point under the stairs which other competing bidders had indicated would be an option. Tim said we could try it if I really wanted, but it sounded like he wasn't comfortable with potential issues due to unseen footings. See PART 2

TLDR; I've dealt with 3 radon companies total, and there is a very clear difference between how the others work vs how RadoVent works. Don't waste your time with other companies, just call RadoVent. I contacted another radon company to do a radon test for a home I was purchasing. The test unfortunately came back very high. They included a mitigation proposal with the test. They were very hands off, and didn't even look at the home to give me a bid. I did not feel comfortable with a company taking a stab at something assuming it was a cookie cutter fix. I then reached out to RadoVent and met them at the home to get a bid from them. I was not the homeowner yet, but I was very concerned about HOW the mitigation system would look on our new home, and not just about price. I met Travis from RadoVent at the home and he spent probably a full hour walking around the property with me and the homeowner talking about different options available. Travis impressed me with his knowledge, background, and thoroughness. Both companies mentioned that we will potentially need two systems due to the size and layout of the home. With the real estate transaction, long story short, they used a third company to install a system. After we moved in, we purchased multiple radon continuous monitors that allow us to watch the radon levels in real time throughout the day. We were surprised to see that the levels had not even changed! We went back and forth with this third company about high levels. They came out and did a test with their units, it happened to be during a 48 hour period of time where the levels were lower than usual and it came back just under the 2.7 limit required by the EPA. They basically told me that everything looked great and we are good to go. Well, my levels were frequently in the 6, 7,8 range, even spiking up to 25 at one point. I went back and forth many times with this company and made very little progress with them. I felt like I was having to argue and fight them to do anything about the system not even making a dent in the radon levels. Unfortunately this company is also VERY new, and only been doing business for about a year now. At this point, I got back in touch with RadoVent. Travis came out a second time to give us a bid. Within a few minutes he noticed some potential issues with their system. He spent probably another full hour looking through options with me, answering my questions, giving me his opinion on things etc. He suggested instead of paying them to do work, that we should go back to the other company and have them do these few fixes under warranty. It was evident that RadoVent is more interested in making sure people are taken care of than getting their money. I followed his advice and asked the third company to come make the suggested fixes. As we sort of feared, these changes were not quite enough to do the trick. We were not at all comfortable with this third companies extremely invasive ideas for solving the problem. At that point, we decided it was time to connect with RadoVent again. Travis came out a THIRD time to give me another consultation. Again spending probably an hour talking with me about everything.  They came a week later to install the system. They were extremely professional, quick and involved me in all of the little details of the install. They installed a system that is extremely well hidden and much quieter than the first system we had installed. It was so frustrating and stressful having to deal with radon. We had to keep the kids out of the basement for months while we messed around with this other company trying to get the issue solved. I will never go anywhere else for radon mitigation in the future. RadoVent has a ton of experience. Hands down, go with someone with experience! You can't afford for another company to experiment with things and hope they work. We are 3 weeks post mitigation now, and haven't had a single spike of unsafe levels in our home. Previously, we couldn't go more than 2 days without the levels rising to unsafe levels. Thanks so much RadoVent!
Response from the owner:Sean, thank you for your detailed review. You are providing an excellent service to the public by sharing your experience. Radon mitigation systems should not be designed with a one-size-fix-all mentality. There are multitudes of foundation types, soil conditions and other complexities that impact the design of an effective radon system. We are thankful for the years of experience that have given us the skill-set needed to resolve situations like yours. We are happy that we were able to get this situation resolved for you! We are especially happy to hear that your family can finally, safely enjoy the basement of your new home with peace of mind!!

We have worked with RadoVent twice (once for the original install, and second for an upgrade to a PVC pipe for the stack). Both times they were communicative, quick to get us on the schedule, and efficient in their work. I felt like we were given options and not coerced into unnecessary upgrades. Anyone I have referred to RadoVent for mitigation systems has been satisfied with their work. I would highly recommend these guys any day of the week!

I know how important radon mitigation is. Six years ago I had another company install a system in my crawl space. What a nightmare! After the install I saw no change in the radon levels. It took two more attempts and too many phone calls before the system worked. A few weeks ago I had a problem while out walking and stopped to ask a favor from a RadonVent technician I saw parked on the street. He was friendly and helpful so I decided to ask him about my system to see if there was a way to dampen the sound. He gave me some good advice and the phone number of the office. I called and Kyle told me I could get a muffler and gave me pricing and scheduled a time for me right then. Kyle was also very personable, knowledgable and helpful. Travis came out and said before I spent the money on the muffler he would just set it in place and make sure it made a difference. I was so appreciative of his sensitivity to not waste my money. The muffler made a huge difference! And Travis painted it to match the pipe AND immediately saw the flashing had been installed incorrectly and fixed that at no charge. I don't usually write reviews but after my first horrible experience I wanted to share how great it was to work with a professional company that takes pride in doing the job right.
Response from the owner:That was a unique one Michele! We are surprised that you didn't have any water damage from that roof flashing that was installed by the other radon company. We are glad that we were able to help your situation!!
