Like many people, I was reminded of radon as an issue by a recent series in the Columbus Dispatch. Our 100 year old home has a finished basement. Protect Environmental set up monitoring equipment and determined that we had levels of around 10 pCi/L, something confirmed by a consumer grade monitor I purchased independently. Shad Evans of Protect Environmental helped determine where to install a mitigation system and exhaust pipe, something complicated by our house’s window, dormer and exterior utilities placement. Lead technician Larry and his colleague explained what they were doing, were extremely neat, and installed the system in a few hours time. The exhaust pipe placement in particular was thoughtfully done. The result… within 24 hours, the radon level was below 1.0 pCi/L and has remained there since installation. Excellent company.

The company did an excellent job of installing and explaining the radon mitigation system. They were able to get the radon levels from a starting point of 27 to under 1 after the system was installed. I have already recommended them to a neighbor.

Setting up the appointment was easy and able to be done fairly quickly. The technicians for the pre-install, full installation, and follow-up visits were very knowledgeable, friendly, and very thorough in their work and in answering our questions. Their explanations of the system and how it works and what to watch for were very clear. They were also very careful working in our home, and cleaned up the work areas well. We recommend them highly for RADON Mitigation work!

If I could, I'd give them a 10! From start to finish with a radon mitigation system installation, they were all very professional, friendly, welcoming of questions without impatience, and very communicative by email and texts. They instilled confidence that they know their stuff. Four days after they installed our mitigation system, our radon level dropped from a scary 53 pCi/L to 0.9 pCi/L. This company is great!

I have a slightly more complex setup with a crawl, newer perimeter French drain, finished basement, and egress window and Protect Environmental got my levels down from 11 to 1.5! Portia in the office is super friendly and responsive, and Brad and his team are extremely knowledgeable and hard working. They beat three other quotes I received, too. Couldn't be happier and would HIGHLY recommend!

Fine for installation but subsequent service is not the best. No idea when they will show up and communication is not the best.

I am 100% sure that the job that they have done will surpass anyone in the business. before they started they made sure all the details in the original estimate is what they are going to do. they informed me of the process and the time involved. they asked if I had any questions as they explained everything. once they finished they explained the operation of the system and checking of the sensor for me to observe regularly. they protected all the work areas with coverings. we're very satisfied and will recommend the company to others. thanks again. I was referred to Protect Environmental and the results was amazing. From the first call getting scheduled for a quote to installation. Everyone was professional, punctual, and friendly. I was told it would be 7-10 day turnaround from signing a contract to install but due to a project being completed sooner they were able to fit me in the schedule earlier than expected. The day of the installation went rather well was able to watch and ask questions the tech was friendly and made sure I understood everything before leaving. I will be referring people to this company going forward.

Had Noah come in to work on internal installation with Ryan and Ethan working on external for a new radon mitigation system. We got three crawl spaces and a pump, and they did a great job working throughout the day to seal things up and explain the system to us. It'll be another day to come in and lay the plastic cover to finish sealing, but all the other work was done and it looks great so far. Noah did well explaining how we can check the system to ensure it works, where all the pipes are running, where the exits are, and they labeled well on the box where the switch is for the system so we can be aware. They let us know that if we run into issues we can call them and for the pump they put in a window held by three screws and sealed with a gasket so we can see whats going on in there without having to remove the seal. Great company to work with so far and we look forward to the finished system and getting to see it work. The fan is already running and it is quite pleasantly quiet so we're happy about that as well. I expected it to be louder than it is, so it was a nice surprise. We have wildlife in the area and they meshed the top to ensure no birds, bats, or squirrels get in there.

My husband is a retired engineer and he had lots of questions. The communication was great, they were prompt and did an excellent job of servicing our basement. We can't say enough good things about our experience with Protect Environmental today with their installation of the radon system! They pulled out old insulation that had turned black, added new insulation and covered the crawl space. We also got super lucky they tested our sump pump, found it was broken, and helped us with replacing it. Noah, Evan, and Portia were all incredibly helpful, kind, and professional! Thank you again!

They were outstanding to work with. When we moved into our house, we hired Protect Environmental (formerly known as Radon Be Gone) to activate the radon mitigation system. Basically, they added a fan to the pipe in the attic and sealed the sump well in the basement. Seven years later, everything is still going strong. I have them out every two years per EPA recommendations to check our radon level, and we consistently get a safe reading. Highly recommended.

Protect Environmental installed a Radon System and the post installation testing came back within the safe range. The two employees were polite and friendly, they protected our home and exterior environment and left everything clean and in order. Actually, 24 hours after the system was started our basement air quality had improved. It is good to have the post-test proving its effectiveness.

I have had great service from these folks. Promptly replaced a motor that went bad, installed a great sump pump in addition to my radon system and worked around my schedule to help when I removed a drain pipe and needed my sump pump cover sealed. I would use them again and highly recommend them.
